If u see the first link..they mentioned about IE, how they are doing..
but the possibility of success becomes bit less.
so better to go for ajax.

if i use ajax control toolkit the file upload controller will not work.....means the photo will not upload to database

YOu should use the update panel along with triggers to avoid postback for specific area of your page...HOpe that can solve your problem pretty much easier than other...
