It is described in documentation to any distro. This forum is not a good place to give you the 'fool answer'. You can always find it by yourself. And you did not even tell us what distro do you use...

Also, I'm not sure this is a software development question, it could be off-topic. Installing a kernel does not mean computer science or software development. It looks like you simply want to install already existing kernel...

Furthermore, CodePrject is Windows focused.
He might be able to find a better solution in a Linux-focused forum.

No, this is not a Windows-only forum. I answered a number of Linux/Unix questions myself. We should not deprive Linux inquirers. If most of the members work on Windows should not change it. I work 99% on Windows myself, so what?

This is a valid question (otherwise I would remove it). I just recommended OP to add some information; and maybe other members provide more help...

I said "Windows focused" by intention. I know that CP is not only Windows, but posting the question in the Q&A will not get him a big echo.

Understood. We should simply remember that the number of Windows developers is generally more than other platforms, that's it.
Thank you.

1 solution

The HelenOS documentation should explain how to do this. If you want another example which has entirely Windows hosted development and a includes an OS Bootloader for x86 based machines then I would take a look at the SanOS[^] project which is a fantastic small OS example.
