Shell Extension Explorer: Modified Windows Shell Search

Hi All,

It is possible to create custom Search Criteria and implement on Explorer 'Search Companion' when user select that Search Criteria it will search data and shows it as Normal procedure.

I read some articles ex. complete idiot's guide' and some more and
I feel its possible.I hope this Site and its members provide me the valuable solution or suggestions.

I think you are looking for Extending the Windows Search Index[^]. There is a relatively good sample code for that in the Windows SDK.

Oh, and a piece of advice: if there is a possibility of *not* supporting Windows XP, do that by all means; it will save you lots of headaches.
