do i have powershell installed

in the process of setting up a new/old laptop just as a secondary programming laptop.. im using win xp sp3 32 bit..

im almost certain powershell 2.0 installed along with vis studio but cant be sure, how can i be sure..?

furthermore, the reason im needing to know is because sql server manager request that i have powershell 1.0 to be installed prior to installation so my second question would be.. do i need 1.0 as well as 2.0 or is everything that was in 1.0 already inside 2.0.?

Solution 2

you need to install powershell 1.0 first before installing powershell 2.0. These two are different.

Solution 1

If in doubt, just reinstall and the installation will tell you if it has been installed or not.
