I hate it when people answer a question with, "Look it up in google!" Well, guess what, google is the first place I turn to to look up questions like this and guess what answer I see most frequently, "do a google search." If you know the answer, then answer the question; if you don't know, then don't say anything. There have been so times when I've looked for something very obscure and the ONE working link that had the same question posed had an answer of, "use google!" Do you know how aggravating that is?? Please be considerate the next time you're tempted to tell someone to use google; in most cases, they already have and couldn't find the answer. At the very least, give them the search phrase you used to get the answer that you found. Thank you JeevithaMani, for actually answering the question!!

9 years around here and this is the first thing you post??

If you've been lurking around here for that long you'd know that most people DON'T do any kind of Google search, or just lie about doing any kind of search at all, or are so poor in their research abilities that they couldn't find the time of day if the clock was hanging two feet in front of their face.

Actually, most of the time, if they just Google the very question they posted here, they would come up with the correct answer.

I have no idea what YOU'RE doing to come up with such poor links, but just about every time I do a search I find the answers I'm looking for within the top 5 links of the results.

Yes, that's the result of 9 years of frustration at people answering with, "look it up in google."

You obviously haven't tried to search for anything obscure where sites have become obsolete because the technology is no longer supported. try doing a search on Delphi 6 related questions. you will find people either telling you to "use google" or giving a link to a dead borland site.

I don't know how it's possible that you've collected data on "most people" that you know most of them don't do a google search before posing a question, but based on every developer that I've talked to in real life, that is the FIRST thing that they do. And the all complained about the same thing!! Posting a question in a forum is almost a last resort before paying for professional support.

At least it should be. But the truth is that many people posting here dont bother to do research on their own before doing so.
