Hi.

I'm a recent college graduate and need help in preventing my original videos & images from being downloaded in my site. I also want to allow for the videos to do playback & images to be viewed.

Is their a way the page with videos url cannot be downloaded?
Is their also a way that screen-record programs cannot get the videos as well?

I don't want to take the path of a watermark over the videos but it's looking like that's my only option. I was wondering if anyone can please help with advise. Some code to where when i can commercialize the site and it's effect in the prevention of my content from being taken.

Thank you for all who read and reply.

What I have tried:

I researched the DRM & EME video player markets but I don't trust using them because they're cloud compatible. I implemented the code to where i can prevent right click save but, browsers still have a "save page as" feature in them. I'm aware of the video download programs that are existent to where people copy the url and paste them to the programs to get the videos to their hard drive.

If YouTube haven't worked out how to do it I doubt you're going to either.

Why are you posting entire videos if you "don't want anyone to SEE them" ... which is what "no downloading" SAYS.

You can't do that.

Think about it. How is the browser, running on a client machine, going to display the images and video if it cannot download them?

If a browser can download it, so can any other app. There is nothing you can do to prevent that.

There's no chance to completely secure video's or images. As far i understand that you don't want to create standard link to video/image, which click on it - by default - causes to download video/image. I'd suggest to think about video streaming. See:
Asynchronous Video Live Streaming with ASP.NET Web APIs 2.0[^]
