You can buy VB6 on Ebay.

If you have a paid MSDN subscription you can download VB6.

VB6 works fine on Windows 10

VB 6.0 is not sold any more - it hasn't been supported for decades.

I haven't tried but I doubt very much you will get it to work under Windows 10. It was difficult enough in Windows 7 (that is a period of my life that I prefer not to talk about)

Make the move to VB.net - it's free for many of the versions see Downloads | IDE, Code, & Team Foundation Server | Visual Studio[^]

If your "client" is insisting you do a project in VB6 then they will need to supply the IDE. If your college is trying to do this then demand your money back and go elsewhere
