How spring reads XML config files.

How does Spring Container reads xml files and translates it into an Object Graph. I have read how marshaller works. But I haven't used one in my project still Spring manages to read the beans from the xml files. So how does Spring parses xml files.

Also can you name some of the parsers in Spring. Question asked in interview. Kindly help

What I have tried:

Tried googling out for the same but could not get much resource. Each one of them is saying how to convert an xml to Object graph through the use of Marshaller.
